Laura graduated from Laurentian University in 2017, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Law & Justice with Honours cum laude. She went on to graduate in 2020 from University of Windsor’s Faculty of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor; she was called to the Bar in 2022.
Being born and raised in the North, Laura began her legal career in Elliot Lake, Ontario in a boutique law firm. Having obtained experience in wills, estates, corporate, and family law, in early 2023 Laura’s main practice area shifted to criminal prosecution, through her work as a Provincial Crown Attorney.
Laura has been active in the North and has been engaged as a board and volunteer member to several organizations. Laura has maintained an ongoing role as an adjunct professor in the Law & Justice program at Laurentian University.
Laura’s personal ties to Northern Ontario communities and Indigeneity as a Métis person, have afforded her a unique understanding and approach to interpersonal relationships, co-operative and collaboration skills, as well heightened equity, and diversity competencies.
